My passion for storytelling and determination comes from my family’s migration from a humble farming village in Pakistan, to the industrial town of Camberley, Surrey. The desire to escape poverty and obtain a better life often meant I worked long gruelling hours, juggling many jobs in factories, local shops and markets.
At sixteen I became an Usher at a small, local cinema, where I discovered my love for cinema and visual aesthetics. This passion led to a MA degree. and the formation of EyeFive Ltd; a film production and digital design company.
As I was building up my filmography and training I freelanced for 14 years as a Digital Designer/Art Director for global advertising agencies. I storyboarded, designed, directed, edited and produced worldwide campaigns for clients such as Universal Pictures, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Time Magazine, Nike, ASOS, Cannon, Lacoste and Mercedes Benz.
Freelance work has allowd me to live in places such as Alabama, Charleston, Berlin, NYC, London, Granada and Islamabad. These global experiences have given me valuable insights into other cultures and visual aesthetics which has shaped my vision and allowed me to create stories about self-discovery, rebellion, exploration and identity in a multi-cultural society.
